DESIGNING HEALTHY STRUCTURES
We design sustainable structures using organic + natural forms from the geometry of nature.
We specialize in the use of SIREwall Rammed Earth, which is mold-proof, fire-proof and designed to last 1000 years.
NATURE INSPIRED DESIGN + HIGH PERFORMANCE BUILDING
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
People believe that all things organic must be good - but that does not necessarily apply to materials used in the thermal envelope of a building.
While wood and other organic materials are often featured in images of biophilic design, wood framing is susceptible to termites, beetles and fungi/mold leading to structural damage and environmental illness.
Inorganic materials such as stone, clay and earth do not take part in the carbon cycle and do not provide food for organisms. They provide superior thermal mass, climate resilience, and extra durability.
SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION
We use the geometry and proportions of nature to create custom architectural designs. By using forms that are already a part of our genetic code, we create harmonious environments that provide shelter and delight for hundreds of years.
Whether rectilinear, biomorphic, or based on regional styles, we take into account the geometry of the site and patterns of daily life.
We believe in nature as the ultimate source of inspiration.
ALIGNMENT WITH NATURE
True sustainability looks at many factors - the life cycle of the building, the carbon footprint, passive methods of heating, cooling and ventilating the building, the amount of maintenance and repair over time, and the depletion of natural resources.
We believe that in order to be truly sustainable, buildings should be built to last a minimum of 200 years. We tend to think of buildings only in terms of our own life span, but sustainability asks that we look ahead many generations.
We take into account locally available materials, supply chains, and site conditions.

WHAT IS RAMMED EARTH?
SIREWALL rammed earth is regarded as the healthiest material for the building envelope in terms of indoor air quality and humidity regulation. For mold prevention, it is critical to eliminate organic materials in the building envelope. There are no red-list chemicals in any part of the wall assembly.
Over 90% of the SIREWALL materials are sourced locally, resulting in a lower carbon footprint and eliminating the need for millions of pounds of building materials to travel long distances.
Rammed earth structures built using SIREWALL technology are built to last 20x longer than traditional wood-framed construction, with virtually no repair or upkeep. Rammed earth also greatly reduces the use of non-renewable resources such as concrete, wood and architectural metals.
SIREWALL is a highly energy-efficient building material due to its high R value and substantial thermal mass. This reduces the need for mechanical heating and cooling, thereby resulting in lower energy consumption.

One of the unique features of rammed earth is the ability to create a custom color blend, matching your surrounding landscape, your decor or personal preference.
Designs can be embossed or debossed into the formwork - meaning that there is a wide range of expressive design possibilities.
